What it's Like to See a Total Solar Eclipse
Переглядів 56 тис.Місяць тому
Total Solar Eclipse 2024 We traveled east along the path of totality to watch a total solar eclipse. The experience left a lasting memory, and I know this won't be our last! I used a small telescope (RedCat 61) and my Canon EOS Ra to take a video of the entire eclipse, and Ash used her Canon EOS R with a telephoto lens (Canon EF 400mm F/5.6) to capture photos. Thank you for watching!

How To Photograph the Solar Eclipse!
Переглядів 121 тис.2 місяці тому
On Monday, April 8th, 2024, there will be a total solar eclipse in the daytime sky. You will need to be in the path of totality to see and photograph the eclipse - using a certified solar filter! A total solar eclipse is the ultimate celestial event. For a brief period, the moon will pass directly in front of the sun, covering it completely. For a lot of people, this is a life-changing moment. ...

I plan to shoot in my backyard although there is plenty of light pollution from my nearby city, but I can see _some_ stars at night. I can figure out the basics, especially regarding how the equipment works. So, when I do take the time to go to a dark sky area, I'll be better prepared. I already have some photography experience as a hobby, but new to astro. I do want to try different things out to see what I enjoy the most but probably starting with astro-landscape (milky way) first since I live in Colorado. From what I gather, that is likely the type of astro I can get started using my existing equipment - plus an astro mount.

I see you have that normal vignetting but also a dark circle in middle and i get that too with my newtonian, is that something we have to live with as newtonian owners or is there a way not to have that dark circle in middle ?

I’m 26 and I got married not too long ago, and I am slowly getting in the hobby, but my wife is already “showing signs” when I want to “spend the night” outside in the dark looking at stars… She like the end result, don’t get me wrong, but to be honest, I would really appreciate like a small interview with your other half, giving some background info on how do you guys handle nights out and you being outside with the telescopes 😊

I started astrophotography about 3 months ago and i can only say i learned so much from your channel, from setting up a telescope, choosing the right camera, photo proccesing exc. Ofcourse, i still have so much to learn but your channel made me progress much faster, and i kinda started this hobby because of your channel. It was the trigger i needed and i definetely dont regret it. I'd say this channel is best on youtube, for beginners and pro's also. Clear skies !

That's awesome, although it's more of a thing to show, no real need for it, for a small market telescope you can carry. I remember there was this dude who actually built his own telescope, mirrors and all, and was quite the size, for probably what you would pay for a good off the market scope. He even uploaded all the instructions and everything anyone would need. Something like this would be more suited to him, to control it from his home, since you couldn't really carry that thing. Still, impressive what you did there.
